Felicia Collins

Once a young girl strumming an imaginary broomstick guitar for her aunt and grandmother in Philadelphia, Felicia Collins discovered her taste for performing early in life.

While playing with a New York City band called The Take in the early 1980s, Collins befriended famous artist and producer Nile Rodgers, who instantly recognized her talents and invited her to do some studio session work.

In 1985, the Thompson Twins invited her to play on their world tour, igniting her fire for playing live. Collins soon found herself with a regular part in Al Jarreau’s set, touring with the jazz legend for the better part of five years. She still found time to record Outloud (1987) with the band of the same name, an album that received critical acclaim but found little commercial success.

As a guest on Cyndi Lauper’s Hat Full of Stars tour in 1993, Collins had the opportunity to perform on Dave Letterman’s Late Show. Letterman band leader Paul Schaffer offered her a job with the CBS Orchestra, which she accepted and and is still playing with today.

Still finding time to write, record and perform with Alvarez guitars and her band 360, Collins is fulfilling her childhood dream one song at a time.
